Recent recon trip to the island was a big success. Went down pre-fishing for the upcoming trips in March and April targeting Halibut. Fishing was good along all the beaches on the lee side of the island. We found lots of Halibut biting on plastic baits. 4” White twin tail scampi’s was the go to bait. Calico bass were also abundant and biting plastics very well. 3/4 oz Warbaits jig head with a 5” Rodge Garage swimbait was the hot bait. We ventured out to one of the high spots off of the south end of the island one day and found the yellow tail piled up. Using flat fall style jigs we were able to hook a few. Water conditions were very nice of the island and I look forward to a very good season there. Stay tuned for next update from the Chris Minnick charter March 16 through the 19th we will be targeting Halibut.
